how are the areas divided up - would i be right in thinking that Manchester and Blackpool are Western due to them being North West? or would they fall into Northern?

Manchester and Blackpool are part of the Northern region, along with Edinburgh, Newcastle and now Aberdeen.

Any news as to when the next ranking updates will take place?
It would be handy to know positions before APAT Edinburgh.

We are awaiting some results from Blue Square and should have them early next week, which will enable Jon and I to get the rankings updated by next weekend.

Lets say you qualify for the irish national event via newcastle on the 10th May, could you also enter one of the other regional events on 17th May to boost your point scoring??? and what would happen if you qualified again? would you have 2 seats and 2 sets of scores, or would it be that you are not allowed to enter if you"ve already got a seat, or would it be that you get to keep both sets of ranking score points but only 1 seat?? Just abit confused.... lol

Taken from the Regional briefing:

"Due to a scheduling clash with the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, APAT Regional leg 5 will take place at Grosvenor Newcastle one week before all other venues.  In the spirit of APAT, players will be able to participate at Grosvenor Newcastle and one other leg 5 event if they choose.  However, players will not be able to claim two sets of Ranking points or two National Championship seats.  A player"s single best result will count should either eventuality occur.  Players will be able to claim prize money and medals at either event."
