Prix l'Arc de Triomphe - Sunday oct 2nd
« on: September 27, 2011, 11:42:12 AM »
World famous horse race will start on next sunday. Like every year this race will attract attention to the whole world of horse racing.

Will local Sarafina win this race, Godolphin again or maybe last years winner Workforce?

Which horses are your favorites and will you bet? What are your picks for the Monstre-Race in Longchamp?

Don"t really keep up with geegee"s anymore. I did actually go to Longchamps for the race on my 30th birthday, which fell on the very same Sunday. It really was a terrific day out, great atmosphere etc. Didn"t win on the main race, but ended up......up for the day. :)

Perhaps You have prompted me to go and buy a racing post, for a quick glance??

Who is your pick BTW?

Oh and GL :)

Good luck too if you bet a horse.

I"m still waiting for an information about DANEDREAM. It"s the discovery of german racing. Bought for very cheap money and winner of some better races. Owner has to decide to designate her for 100K in the Arc.

I"ll wait for the racecard and I"m sure which horses will run.

If the german filly will start I"ll bet her. Weight, performance, all sounds good but it"s a tough race and we"ll see the best horses.

WORKFORCE will be def one of my picks again, brilliant horse.

Wohoooo. It"s fact, german filly DANEDREAM will run. It"s a tough race but the odds will be nice. If your bookmaker offer good fixed odds it"s a risky but for good value e/w.

Good luck.

An excellent chance has german owned and trained in france by trainer C. Ferland DABIRSIM in Grand Criterium - Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere - Grade 1. With the jockeyship of Frankie Dettori and the 2y colt can conserve his performance it looks like a penalty ....but we know, the race always will be finished at line.

Is it like a Mission Impossible for WORKFORCE to win back to back the "Arc"?

The stats are against this result. It"s long ago that ALLEGED (1977/1978) was able to realize it. Excellent horses like Hurricane Run and Montjeu failed last years.

German filly DANEDREAM, bought for cheap 9.000 Euro, and winner of 500.000 Euro, has a new co-owner. Teruya Yoshida has bought a 50% share, price unknown. He is also well-knowned in horse racing. One of his horses is SAPHRESA.

depends if u want to take stats/trends literally or not, Hurricane Run won the Arc on good to soft in a 15 runner field the next year the going was good and a 8 runner field.. Montjeu won his Arc in heavy conditions and the next year it was good going...

That"s right noble1, agree. But however the circumstances were, Alleged was the last horse. Horse races are always a bit like poker. If you see Pocket Aces in the hole you"ll be optimistic to collect a lot of chips and win that single game. If you know that your horse will be the best in the field it depends what happend between start and finish line. Sometimes there is a Turf Bad Beat waiting.  :)

Andre Fabre is an outstanding trainer and if he send a horse into such a race like the ARC we have to be observant.
Thanks for your kind words for "our" filly. e/w on her is a question of patriosm. ;)

Guess Workforce is still my bank for exacta and trifecta. Rest will be intuition and study of last performances.

I am on Hiruno D"Amour - great value shot ...

Still smarting from my punt on Nakayama Festa last year - how time flies.

Looking forward to the big race.

Agree. If you study a bit then you cant ignore the colt. Nice odds. Also the pick of racing post expert. A bit doubt about the ground for WORKFORCE, but there is a bit watering to have fair conditions. WORKFORCE, DANEDREAM and HIRUNA D"AMOUR are def in all of my combined bets. Will make my bet when I see the horses in the paddock.
