Given that my brain cells are shrugging off their mortal coils at an alarming rate, I must be mad to start this.

I will attempt to put into words experiences that are encountered at the poker table (and off it). If I type something in within 24/48 hours of it happening I might have a chance. Also I might need to take a few notes during the action because for some obscure reason recollection after some of them is sketchy, to say the least.

First one will be tomorrow after tonights home game that includes a few APATers

Other main upcoming events

3rd Virgin Festival (luckboxed a satellite)
Pre Forum home game
Forum Challenge

Watch this space (clock started for a suitably witty Kinboshi reply)

EDIT: The webcam for the home game will be live tonight from 19:15

The motley crew gathered and ranged around the table. We drew for dealers and we were off. I was adamant that I was only going to play premium hands (yeah right ! here fishy fishy), Tangled with Andy O early doors, blinds 50/100 I find J J in middle position, I raise 400, it’s passed round to Andy in the SB who calls, BB folds. Flop comes 10 10 4. I’m first to act and bet 600, he calls. Bugger is he trapping me. Turn comes with a 6. I get the frigging wobbles, what’s he got ?. I make the mistake of checking, why do that if the river comes a blank what's my move ?.

What am I putting him on? He checks, now I am crapping myself. River is a 3, no flush, no straight. I bet 800, in a heartbeat he bets 2k. Oh Shiite…. We play together most weeks he is liable to have anything.. I curse my weak play, take a slug of beer and call – he mucks. I really must improve my play, it was dire. Now the real question is, if I was prepared to call that raise why the hell didn’t I bet on the turn. Answers on a postage stamp please.

The game ebbed and flowed (along with the drink) for a goodly period with no real notable hands until Jason woke up with K’s into a raised board went all in and got a caller with A Q. They held up and the very next hand the same caller pushed all in with J J and Jason called and turned over A A oops.

The blinds begin to bite after 2 hours and the play got tad more aggressive, my exit was more of an attempt to go out in a blaze of glory instead of bleeding to death. A J no match for A Q.

Dan B won the first one with the tried and tested play strategy of going all in every hand when heads up LMAO…

Chinese home delivery arrived and was tucked into with gusto as each hand was dissected and taken apart. Main topic of conversation was whenever I would bet in the second game they would all call <sigh>.

The second game is usually one hell of a lot more aggressive than the first (drink taken ? never) and this proved no exception. “raise” would be the shout “all in” would be the reply most hands. My imitation of “Custer’s Last Stand” was, when in BB with A 4 flop comes down 10 10 4 – I check (weak as a dish rag me why do I do that?) guy on my left goes all in. I call, now why did I call when I didn’t bet on the flop, my game sucks. He turns over 2 2 – gotta love that – 2 on the turn Fk my life.

Game was as usual funny in spots, dummies thrown out of the pram a couple of times, but never any real animosity.

Good location, Good company – priceless..

Next game is the £200 jobby in Blackpool on Saturday afternoon….

The way I’m playing I really don’t know why I bother, maybe I should stay sober (like that’s gonna happen)
