APAT Season 9 Irish Amateur Poker Championship, Dublin
« on: April 23, 2015, 15:18:05 PM »

In advance of the APAT Season 9 Announcement, APAT are delighted to release early details of the Irish Amateur Poker Championship that will be played in Dublin over the Irish Bank Holiday weekend at the end of October 2015 - the Bank Holiday is on Monday 26th October.

The APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship (NLHE) €100+€20 will run alongside the IPO Dublin and take place in The Regency Hotel, Health Club and Spa over two days Sunday 25th and Monday 26th October 2015

Outside the IPO Dublin main event itself, this will be the biggest focus event of the weekend and we expect a large percentage of IPO exiting players on the IPO Day 1s and early on IPO Day 2 (Sunday) to enter - the field will initially be capped at 200 players, with Alternates/Late Entry being seated as tables become available - we expect the field to exceed 300 players by the time late registration closes.

Consequently 2 changes will be made to the "normal" APAT structure (for this event only) which we consider will be both attractive to the local player base and also aid the timely completion of the event within the allocated time frame:

1.   The starting stack will increase from 15k to 20k
2.   The first level 25/50 will be dropped, and two new levels will be introduced - 250/500 and 2500/5000.

The Irish Championship will attract Season 9 Ranking Leaderboard Points for the Top 18 finishers.

In addition to the prizepool, which is estimated at €30,000, APAT coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded, and the Irish Champion will also win the added value of a seat in the Season 9 WCOAP Main Event.

Alongside the APAT Irish Amateur Poker Championship, and the IPO Dublin Main Event, there will be numerous side events over the weekend - both NLHE and PLO, however, there will be no specific APAT side events due to the busy schedule over the weekend.  There will be 24/7 NLHE and PLO cash tables.

Early buyin is available via an Online Holding Tank with Coral and will close on 1 Oct, as well as the usual Eventbrite Reserve A Seat facility which will close on 20 Oct.  At present, the event is scheduled to start on Sunday at 15:00 and play 13 levels until circa 03:15, and to return on Monday at 15:00 to play to completion which is expected around midnight.

The Regency Hotel has 206 rooms and a lively public bar (with bar menu), a restaurant and regular live music at the weekends (in the bar), and is less than 10 minutes drive from Dublin Airport, and also a 10 minute drive into Dublin City Centre (3km).

Free to all staying guests, the adjacent Regency Health Club and Spa offers an indoor swimming pool, well-equipped gym, sauna and a steam room with a range of beauty and pamper treatments available for an extra charge, including hot stone massage, Indian head massage and facials.

If you"re ever going to take your partner on an APAT weekend - this is the one!

The opportunity to guarantee yourself a seat in advance of the Irish Amateur Poker Championship has now passed.

The following have bought in via the APAT Coral Online Holding Tank and do NOT need to turn up at the venue to register - simply turn up at any time and take your seat as you have already been registered into the event by APAT and your chips will go into play at the start of the tournament even if you are late to arrive - late arrivals will be blinded out from the start of the tournament.

BAKER Richard
PILKINGTON David
RICE Paul
ROBERTS Don

The following have reserved seats via the APAT Eventbrite Facility and have until their event start time to register and buy in for the full amount at the venue - after this time the seat becomes available to others:

GORTON   Graham 1
HALLIDAY   David 1
MITCHELL   adrian 2
RODGERS   Patrick 1
YATES   Brian 1

I will be in attendance throughout, from 1 hour prior to start of play each day, so if members have any problems then please track me down asap.... or contact me via Facebook Messenger.
