This is a TEAM event - the whole concept is team oriented, and it just happens that the highest placed players in a team win the opportunity to represent their team at the live event..... it could be argued that should he cash, the entire winnings are distributed to all team members on a pro-rata basis according to points contributed (and the player who represented the team in the live event and secured the cash gets his share according to the points total that he scored).

Actually...they might chose (or be required) to represent another team entirely.

I believe Steve means should they win a UKIPT seat...that they are effectively representing their team in that event.

Oh...that makes more sense than my paranoid delusions.

Why not Jon? They probably scored way less than half the points that the team scored to get them there. If they were in a region on their own they wouldn"t get there. So on that basis it"s probably a raw deal on the rest of the team to only get 50% of the winnings  ;D

--- End quote ---

Even if the rest of the team contributed as high as 80% of the effort to get the winner in to the added value tournament.
They will have contributed 0% of the effort to get that player into the cash/win in the tournament itself

So their reward should be 0.8 x 0.0 = 0% surely?

They should be grateful for getting anything higher ;D

Of course, the player who wins the individual tally should not split his winnings - he has won that for Individual recognition and not team performance.

Jon agrees with you Steve, as does Des. I tabled a 50% split, Jon said he thought that was too much and Des agreed and said it wouldn"t be as high as 50% to the team. So this will be a discussion for later when Des tells us (or offers to discuss) the detail. Az you know, we at BCPC have for 6 seasons used a 50% split rule for our winners that represent the club in regional/national events. I"m not aware of any opposition to this, but Brian would know better than me.

I will be creating a Captain"s board Andrew, and the guys can discuss and agree any outstanding issues in there.  I"m happy to leave this one to them.

Do you mean that it will be for each team to decide with their captain or for the captains to decide a rule between them? The latter please??? Make it the same for everyone, no matter what team they are in.
