Forum Reorganisation

(1/2) > >>

Des:
I"ve reorganised some of the forum boards this evening to simplify finding content for new members, and those of you who"ve been searching for that thread you"re sure you wrote some months ago!  :D

The key amends are as follows:-

- This board has become "General Discussion" and is now open to any poker content (online or offline) and any other general discussion.  I"ve left the "Sports Discussion" board within the Community category as it is well established there.

-  As a result of the above I have archived the "General Live Poker" and "General Online Poker" boards.  I"ve moved some of the most recent threads to the "General Discussion" boards for continuity reasons.  Several thousand posts from those two boards can be easily accessed by going to the "Archived Content" category.

- The Rankings category has moved to become a child board of General Discussion.

- I"ve moved the "APAT Poker Clubs" category from "National Online League" to "Community".

- I"ve created a "PokerStars" partners board and put it within the "National Online League" category.  I will put other third party partner boards in their relevant "Live Tour" or "Online Tour" categories as appropriate.  I removed the general "Partners" board.

- I"ve archived thousands of other posts and boards that were not being utilised.

More changes may follow, but that"s a summary of where we are at the moment and I hope you all find the forum easier to navigate.

Paulie is updating the Newbies post and that will contain a strong and clear Welcome to APAT message when it"s put live.

There is some fantastic content in the "Blogs" category which sits very low down in the Forum structure.  I"m considering moving that category, or the blogs themselves and putting them within "General Discussion".

I would welcome thoughts and suggestions on this and any other improvements that you would like to see.

Regards,

Des.

I think the Blogs section is fine where it is...it"s certainly a big part of the "Community" element that differentiates APAT from other tours/groups/organisations.

Frankly, and I don"t know if I"m in a minority here, I"m here so often that I just look for "unread posts" using the link at the top and read the ones that grab my attention. I don"t have to root around in the annals to find stuff that way.

Then I just use the button at the bottom to mark everything else as "read".

It"s better than before - there were a few sections towards the bottom of the homepage that were hardly used. I think there is scope for splitting the General Discussion into some categories.

That"s interesting Paulie. I just link straight to "Recent Posts" and scroll up from wherever I was last. It shows the last 10 pages, about 100 posts. Only prob is, occasionally, the forum goes mental and there are more than 10 pages.
