Pokerpops ponders poker

pokerpops:
About a year ago I was running pretty badly in local games, making some bad decisions and also running into some coolers and suck outs that were, to say the least, disappointing.
I"d suffered a nasty reverse in the UKIPT and been eliminated by runner runner threes.

Then, I played in the DTD Grand Prix...

This year I"m running badly. Take last night...

actually, don"t. suffice to say that I exited the home game when someone called my flop bet to hit his gutshot and raised when I bet my two pair on the river, and that was the least bad moment of a night where if the river hadn"t been dealt I"d be a fair few quid better off today
Nothing I could do on any of those hands either, just suck it up when the cards were turned over.

Next week, I"m playing in the DTD Grand Prix...

I was planning on just playing the last Day 1, live next Saturday, but having won two Golden Chips with a view to collecting the £60 for one it turns out that I can only do that if I qualify for Day Two before Saturday (it makes sense)
So at some stage this week I shall be playing an online Day 1 and endeavouring to outlast 90% of the field and to have something around the average stack of 200,000.
Looking back over the last two of these events, I"ve run very well in them.

Here"s hoping for more of the same

Laxie:
Very best of luck with it!   :)

soooooooooo

Played the online Day 1 last night and since I was sitting with the laptop on and the poker client was open I opted to also play the DTD Blonde Poker League game. £5rb PLO. Not my usual game. By a long way.
Coming 2nd was a proper result!!

But - the more serious matter of the GP. I folded the first 13 hands, lost some chips on the 14th hand and then folded again for a while.
It was 45 minutes into the comp when I made my first move upwards on hand 31

oh well - I now find myself forced into playing another online Day 1 because I was one of the "rounded down" players and get a £60 token to use for a re-entry which, if unused before Saturday, is worthless.

I"m out to see David O"Doherty tonight so it looks like I"ll be playing in the last chance atmosphere of Thursday night

Eventually, with around 40 left utg+1 raised to 4x and I found JJ... He had AA and held.

It feels as though the KK
