How come only 10,000 chips in the Omaha? Is it a super turbo?!

If this isn"t a level, then I"d love to know what sort of structure you would like to fit into a 1 day event.
I"m sure most players that have played this event before would agree that the structure is about right.

I play many live Omaha tourneys and this seems super shallow. Working on the basis of 1.08 million chips in play (108 runners) in 8 hours of play (level 16) there will be 100 BB in play or 33 each if 3 left. Is the tourney aiming to be over in 8-10 hours?

To give you an idea of the timings using this structure :-
Season 5 WCOAP - 108 Runners - 11hrs play
Season 6 ECOAP - 81 Runners - 9hrs play

On a completely different note................ Is there any way that the HU tourney may be increased to 128 runners if demand is such? It will only be one more round and will double the prize pool. If D2D are worried about the table space, they can always have 2 games running on each table with the dealers sitting between the 2 players (have played this way before to save on table space). Just a thought as I am on the waiting list for this and am keen to play in it!

Appreciate the thoughts, but they already do this anyway with the tables. Space is certainly not the issue.
The first Heads Up event we ran had 32 runners, last year we doubled that to 64 runners. This year we have tweeked the structure to try and give a bit more play, but if we doubled the runnners, we would have to reduce the structures to get the games in on the Bank Holiday Monday.
It"s not as simple as saying it"s just one more round, you are actually doubling the number of games to be played. We know it"s popular and are in discussions with DTD around all of the events to see if there is anything we can do to create more seats.

I"ve reached the latter stages of this tourney in two of the last three years (yeah I know, blatant brag), and suggest that the structure is just about spot on.... it runs for around 10-12 hours, which for a £50 tourney is pretty decent. Yeah it gets shovey for a while when it"s around 20-30 runners (from ~100-110 starters), but then all tournaments have their shove points. I would love to see all tournaments play deeper... but I would also love to get to bed at a semi reasonable hour too.

Well done APAT; this could be the best yet!!
Question regarding the Open event; Do you not think the structure is maybe a little shallow for such a relatively high buy in when compared to other events DTD run.
I appreciate its a late start and there"s a lot to cram in but can this be looked at?

We"ve had a response back from DTD. They"ve had a look at the structure and run the numbers through. They predict it will run for around 9hrs with a 3am-4am finish. If anything, they would like to see a couple of levels removed, but I"d suggest we will leave it as it stands at the moment.

Thanks Leigh, can"t do anything with the start time no?

For the ME - I think that"s the usual £75 structure. It"s £100 this time - can we have 20k instead of 15k?
--- End quote ---
Agree. The worlds were 5K more than the national events previously to reflect the higher buy in. Just because we"re getting better value in the nationals now, doesn"t mean we don"t want better, better value in the wcoap lol.

Any thoughts on this, guys?
