Hand Action :

Table 38 -

Nicholas Flanagan and Glenn Barratt tangle - Nicholas fires 1k at the flop after Glenn checks, which is showing 46Q, but Glenn immediately re-pops to 2k - Nicholas looks bemused but calls nonetheless.

Turn brings a 5 - Glenn fires 2200 - Nicholas looks even more bemused but this time finds a fold, and Glenn takes the pot down.

Glenn Barratt

Over to Table 11, and Carl Pilgrim raises from mid position to 500 - folded round to the BB of Jonathan Gill who defends.

They both check the flop of 754 - Jonathan then checks when an Ace develops on the turn - Carl bets 600 - Jonathan folds and nods as Carl flashes his Ace to take the pot.

Question for discussion - views/comments welcome :

Dealer dealing hole cards (as he does!) accidently flips a card - and immediately retracts the card, saying its the first burn.

If the player to whom it was dealt says "thats my card, i want it - i dont care if all the table knows i have it" should he be allowed to keep it and play continue?

Should the player be allowed the option of keeping that card - on the basis it was his but dealer error has caused them not to get it?

--- End quote ---

Short answer is no. It can create an unfair advantage. You can"t show cards at any point in the hand and this situation shouldn"t be treated any differently.
