Thanks for that. Looks like I won"t be venturing far from the casino bar.
No change there then.

This is the advance party reporting.
I arrived in Prague about an hour ago. I enquired at a couple of travel desks and the tourist information about getting into the town centre. People from this part of the world are sometimes perceived as rude when we judge them based on our normal experiences in our culture. We need to accept that not everyone approaches things the same way and theirs is just a different approach to ours. Having spent the last hour here, I have come to the conclusion that the reason they come across as rude to us is because they are a downright surly rude lot. I have spoken with half a dozen people and every one has been unpleasant. None of them have smiled, and every one of them has been curt at best, and slightly aggressive in a couple of cases. And these are the ones on the help-desks at the airport, who have had whatever passes for customer service training around here. The woman in tourist information was the scariest of the lot.

I"m coming to play in the 888 event which is also part of the festival that weekend. I booked a shuttle from the airport for about a tenner which I didn"t have to prepay so I hope it turns up. Thanks for the warning about the surly welcome! Although looking at how many poker players there will be I don"t expect to be surrounded by locals. Good luck to us all.
