What a difference a few hours makes:

It"s a fast start to Day 1B, with one player already eliminated.

Steve Rumming raised to 200 pre-flop at 25/50, holding AK, which was called by David Gregory with AA and Dann Williams in position with JT. The Flop was AK4 and all three players checked (tricky lot, these APAT players). A blank Turn saw just 500 chips each entering the pot from Gregory and Rumming, with Williams folding. Another K on the River gave full houses to both players, AAAKK against AAKKK, and the pot was raised and reraised until all the chips were in.

Very unlucky spot for Rumming. Gregory is the early chip-leader with a little over double the starting stack.

From zero to hero - Stephen Rumming.

MintTrav:
The Flop is  A s 5c 3s and there is 30k in the pot.

Kyle Hyman bets 3k and Sebastian Morariu moves in for 29k.

Kyle thinks about it.

Then he thinks some more.

I go and have a chat with Jason Kemp on the next table. He has 110k btw.

On the first table, Kyle is still thinking about it.

He calls.  9h 9s

Sebastian shows  ad1 Qh

The board runs out  6c 4s and Seb doubles up.

APAT:
Some giants of the APAT tour remain in contention today, including two players who are looking for an elusive individual cash in six consecutive seasons.

Only two players have achieved this feat previously, anyone guess who?

MintTrav:
A big pot.

Rodders opens to 6.5k in early position and is called in three spots by Roy Powell beside him, Dan Owston in the SB and Bob Bulman in the BB.

The Flop is  10h Js Ks.

Dan checks, Bob shoves for 32k, Rodders calls instantly and the others fold.

Bob  Qh 9h
Rod   Ah Qs

They have both flopped a straight, with Rodders ahead.

An Ace would chop the pot, but it doesn"t come and Bob is out.

Rodders takes the chip lead and becomes the first player above 200k.

Matt D:
We"re just back from a quick 15 minute break.

Some of the largest stacks are:

Steve Roderick: 240k.

Rob Thomas: 160k.

Kyle Hyman: 130k.

Jason Kemp: 125k.

Warren Jones (not one of the largest stacks): 70k

Level 15: Blinds 2000/4000/500. 25 players remain. Average 83k.

Rob Thomas - looking for inspiration.
