The wheels eventually came off for McCorkell, finishing sixth. Paxo had two of the three cashers. The tournament adjourned heads-up but, for us, it is over.

He"s done it. Mercier entered the final table with a big chip lead and things carried on as expected until there were four left. Then the tournament really took off. At that point, Mercier had a decent lead with over 3m chips. Not long after, he was 4th, with 700k. The tournament became incredibly swingy and Adam Friedman and James Obst both went over 3m and took the lead at different stages. Eventually Friedman went out 4th, followed by Nick Schulman in 3rd. Obst started heads-up with a big lead, but Mercier kept grinding and taking. He received an unbelievable succession of superior cards, giving the opportunity to put pressure on fairly easily, and ran out the winner in the end.

Mercier has been playing continuously for almost a week, finishing late and late-registering for the next one, and looked extremely tired at some points. Both players were criticised in commentary by Ray Dehkharghani, winner of the Razz and the only player to best Mercier in the last three tournaments. Obst, in particular, was totally lacerated for his play.

OMG, the stakers have cleaned up here.

Staker results coming up..........

If you staked Mercier in this, you in da big money! Incredible amounts won by the stakers.

In total, you staked £13k on him and he returned more than half a million - Pounds!

Simon, who put the largest share on Mercier, has decided to stay on in Vegas for another month.

MintTrav:
#25 ($2.5k NLHE) and #26 ($1.5k Omaha Hi-Lo) continue with two dozen left in each. Niall Farrell is still there for us in #25, while we have Pescatori and Kessler in #26, all mid-placed.

Unfortunately, all of our heroes have fallen in the Seniors, #27. However, Sean Byrne has cashed in this event for the third year in a row, having finished 38th and 56th in the last two years. He will return in 96th place out of 675 players, all in the money. No sign of Brendan. ;)

The $10k Limit Championship (#28) also returns. Those through to Day 2 include Howard Lederer and the disappointment of the Series, Dzmitry Urbanovich.
