STAKER - WSOP #68: $10,000 Main Event No Limit Hold'em Championship
Staker Profit Tom Feilding £290,880 Des Duffy £ 67,500 Richard Prew £ 41,594 Carl Pilgrim £ 40,323 Del Watson £ 25,544 Alan Ellis £ 12,526 Craig Dawson £ 8,803 Ross Warren £ 8,167 Simon Lawlor £ 1,585
You gotta take some chances, and Tom took a chance by putting his whole stake on one player. That player was James Obst, when finished 13th, giving no-one else any chance of taking the prize.
Richard and Carl had percentages of Max Silver (33rd); Del had some of Paul Volpe (29th), while Alan and Ross had part of Tom Middleton (56th). Until those players were eliminated, it was still possible for their stakers to to win the £250, despite holding smaller shares, given the way the prize money accelerates as you climb the finishing places. The only one of the top group who couldn"t win it was Des, who had a smaller percentage of Obst, so could never finish ahead of Tom, once his other players were out.
Craig also went down the 100% route but, if you do that, you gotta choose the guy who"s going to be 13th, not 499th as luckychewy Andrew Lichtenberger was.
Congrats Tom!

Also had % of Simon Deadman but wouldn"t change much apart from leapfrogging Tighty ;D
