Oh ok Matt, that"s great thanks. You may wish to amend the opening post of this thread then, because it clearly states no deals facilitated for this event which is why I was perplexed.

That"s a good point. I will check with Tom who wrote the text I copied from, to clarify.

Fluence:
As one of the 5 involved in the deal I can relay exactly what happened.

I personally wasn't thinking about a deal but one of the locals who had not played an APAT before asked about a deal on the £900.

As it was a side event I wasn't sure so I went to ask Tom and his ruling was that the “Package” must be won and could not be dealt for in any way, but he was happy for us to divide up the extra £900 cash as we wished.

As one or more of the remaining players had won a satellite for £12 to get in and some like me had paid £157 by having the add on we all felt it was sensible to smooth out the cash.

Sometime after the deal was agreed one or two had second thoughts as play progressed and people busted but that's the way of these things.

Personally I think that the fact that 4 players got at least their buy in back and a bit of profit is good for the game as it means they may be more inclined to enter another one.

Hammerite:
Ok, thanks for the inside story, I guess there is no more to be said, as clearly a deal was arrived at despite the opening post of the thread stating they were not allowed, not happy about it because I played some marginal hands that I never would have played if I was just trying to get to the stage where i could do a deal, so good luck to you all, lesson learned by me don"t read the rules :)

We each play to our own way, but for me I don"t play a comp costing £82 or in my case £157 to try and min cash for £200 I was playing for the win the whole way both before and after the deal.  So you playing marginal hands is the right way in my view.
