looking at the number of BB i have left and my opponent i put the UTG on AK or AQ and doesnt know how to play post flop or is scared incase he doesnt hit and doesnt want to be crippled if he puts a big bet in and loses

fortunelty i hit a 7 and took the pot but i dont think i did much wrong

had he raised it to 600 or 750 i"d have probably folded as i didnt fancy being crippled myself and in a 50/50 situation and still lots of room to play - i could"ve tried the stop n go as an alternative

This....exactly right!

Your read was obviously spot on, but he could have had mid to Jacks pair, in which case you"re losing. Your read was spot on and you were racing, so the call depends on whether you are prepared to gamble or wait for a better spot.
But I have no argument with the way you decided to play it.

you put him on a range of 2 hands?

me thinks you need to look into correct [double or nothing]sng strategy - this link will help , by the way jennifear knows what she is talking about and as well as being a very good profitable sng player is also a very good coach .. she knows her stuff...
