These tournaments last for approx 4 hours. Regardless of the buy-in, the team spirit and banter can be great and the quality of play is good IMO. APAT try as best they can to create reasonably slow structures which is most suited for the skillful game, as opposed to crapshoots, which I personally do not enjoy. I agree that it is difficult to find a better structure for a $10 buyin, and that is what I think is so good about APAT, they support improving players with a limited budget.

Thanks very much for the replies Guys. As I said, they were observations , not criticisms. I do enjoy the longer, more skillful game as it suits my style. I have played in this type of format before, last year, when I chopped the PokerGod 3 on Will Hill ,for a trip on The Freedom of The Seas for a $10k package in the CPC, so I am in favour of the set up. (The PokerGod Final 40 play-off lasted barely 2 hrs, with 3000 starting chips, 15 min levels)

All I was asking , was there any views on the relationship between the low turnout and the running time, and if so, do you believe the format could be tweaked ?

shorten the structure, and the field size would decrease, not increase.
