Poker RNG, cheats and bad beats. is online poker a big scam!!
maverick1:
ive only been playing online for a few months and im not quite sure whether to continue playing or not, i play on fulltilt and in my 3 years of live poker ive never endured so many bad beats and just some weird betting that always seems to prevail!
ive been doing some research and i understand there is a programme called poker RNG which is a random number generator which works in synch with the websites RNG and it predicts what cards will be dealt flopped etc, alot of people say this programme is a fake and doesn"t work but others say it does and to be honest id probably say it does and i bet theres also a cheat to see other players hole cards which some people say there is1
there is no other way to explain these strange bets and wierd run of cards that almost never happen in live poker!
im so fed up of these bad beats im withdrawing my fulltilt account and iv just started on blue sq but iv just lost al confidence into the security of these sites!
are we being scammed?

Wow, that"s a serious one for your first proper thread.
Ummmm, not sure where to start with this one, there are lots of conspiracy theories regarding online sites. I"ve been playing for nearly five years on numerous sites and I have to be honest, I think most are well run and have very good security and audited processes.
That"s not to say that recent stories surrounding Absolute and Ultimate can tarnish the reputation of online poker.
I"d like to think that the big sites such as Pokerstars, FullTilt and Ipoker have very little interest in rigging their software. They would have far too much to lose should anything happen.
When playing online, it is important to remember that you see a much higher number of hands per hour than playing live, and to that extent, you will experience higher variance, more badbeats and suckouts.
That"s just one of those things and I don"t think any site is worse of better than the next. As far as your game goes, you really should look at the type of games on offer and the type of player playing on the sites, and based on that choose your tournaments.
Good Luck.

I"d have to agree with Leigh, people will suspect your motives if your first proper post is being overly critical towards online poker generally or Full Tilt specifically. You might find a more serious response to this type of post once people get to know you better.
Personally speaking, online poker is not a big scam.
AMRN:
An age old, and rather tiring debate.
Bad beats aren"t "bad" - they are just a win for the under-dog. There is no difference between live and online - it"s just that we tend to remember the "bad" beats..... and online we play around 5 times the hand volume per hour as we do live.... hence therefore we see and remember more "bad" beats per hour online.
Swinebag:
having followed the WSOP final table, I have to say live poker is far more rigged
I mean KK > AA, 33 > JJ, 22 > QQ. Proof if you needed it
