Why do casinos poker tournaments play POT LIMIT not NO LIMIT

(1/2) > >>

2make1whole:
Most casino weekly tournaments that are played are pot limit and the structure is so bad that its hard to get feel or value or enjoyment out of it.with buy ins chip stack given at 1000 and blinds 100 its mostly abit of lottery and luck at start and not able to use proper skill or gameplay.

why dont casino play more no limit events with a better structure?i know its re buys events but i just feel its a very poor set up and should offer better variety best tournament ive played in was event poker £60 buy in 15k chip stack blinds up in 30min stages but at £60 pays top 9 out of 100 the money can add up.

would be nice to see some more tournaments at lower cost no limit etc like £25 £30 etc..or even £20 re buy but with better chip start and structure

1000 chips and blinds at 100/100 is a joke to me

what do you think?

Welcome to APAT Scott.  I think you will find that a very large percentage of members feel exactly as you do.  I think you will enjoy APAT events  ;)

I don"t disagree with the lousy structures that most casinos appear to have but, from my research (read...web surfing) most tourneys ARE no-limit rather than pot-limit.

Where do you play that have pot-limit tourneys?

I could get into the whole pot-limit vs. no-limit thing but I"ll defer that to another time....tick...tick...tick...

kinboshi:
Most holdem cash games in casinos are PL (as are omaha games as well obviously).  Must say that most of the tournaments (90%+) have been NL holdem.

Pot limit holdem cash = big multiway pots.
