Really ?
I"m just a mild mannered accountant you know.
I just wanted to send out a huge thankyou to everyone that has sent a message, liked a post, favourited a tweet, retweeted, shared a link, phoned me or was just wishing me good luck subconsciously.
I was totally overwhelmed and humbled that people took the time out to care. Just shows how great the APAT community is, and how we should show more of this side to us. I think alongside allowing us to play the deepstack, value added poker that we love, the friendly, arms open wide community is why a lot of us got involved in the first place.
Sometimes even I forget that, but this weekends support has given me that gentle reminder of what a great bunch of people we have (most of the time).
If I didn"t manage to respond to a message or "like" a post, I"m really sorry, it"s just that I don"t like you. ;D
I"m gutted that I couldn"t make the final table, which would have been a huge thing for the recreational and amateur players in the UK. I made one real mistake across the five days, and it was that last hand. And that"s the difference between an amateur/recreational player and the more experienced pro. But, we"re all here to learn and improve, and I certainly have done that over the tournament, and I won"t be making that mistake again when it comes down to the crunch.
Before anyone says anything, it"s not about beating myself up, or being gutted, or a case of let"s see what you could have won. I"ve just had the biggest cash of my poker life, and had one of the best experiences of my poker life (Did I ever tell you about my first live poker tournament in the Caribbean ?), and will struggle to remove the grin from my face for a good while.
I"ve been blogging across the weekend, and you can read all the details on there.
PS.
Matt Dale is a jolly decent bloke. Don"t let anyone tell you anything different. ;D
SirPercival:
