Hi Wayne......can you confirm whether Grimsby falls into the Yorkshire & Humber or East Midlands please. In the past i have represented East Midlands and consequently i have registered with them for the upcoming league? Please advise?

Recruitment starts now

It's just over 2 weeks before the start of the league and we need to get more people sign up. So can I ask you to start asking your friends, your home games at the casino on facebook etc. We have made a good start with 21 (Thank you) so far but we need more, we don't need to be a big team to win but more the merry. I will put up a full list of names in a couple of days

Thanks
Wayne

With us now playing on PS and we have allot of new players can I suggest that you get to know the poker ID"s of your team mates.( I put it in the players notes that they are a Y&H player) I will be putting up a thread each week with who is playing that week. Can I ask you to post if you are playing, (this will help me). If you are at a table with a TEAM mate but you think that they don"t know you, tell them you are on the same TEAM

The first game of the league is this Sunday the 11th at 7.00 with a 1 hour late registration. $10+$1 on PokeStars, you can find it under Tournaments/Private/APAT password apatmember

At the moment we have 36 registered players on the forum which is great. If we can get 20 or more to play each week then I think we have a big chance of winning this. Knowing some of you and after talking to some of the new members, I think the quality we have will be better than the quantity of the other teams.

I have started a thread (week 1) where I shall try to keep you up to date with what"s happening in the game but it"s there for you to post in, any bad beat stories, who knocked you out and general chit chat.

I started a thread about a "last longer" but they was not allot of interest in it so I won"t be running it but I will still be doing it as a best player competition, no prizes just for fun to see who is the best Y&H player (I may buy you a pint). I will add the two leagues together to find the season 6 best player.

That"s it for now, good luck to you all and lets show them how good Yorkshire & Humberside players are.

So that"s week 1 done and dusted. We had 29 out of a possible 43 which is great, if we have that kind of turnout each week we will be competitive for the rest of the season. But that does not mean we don"t won"t any more players, we do, so keep spreading the word about this league, the more we have the better chance we have.

Congratulations to Paul, Dean and James who all finished in the points, if it wasn"t for some bad beats towards the end, the outcome would have been allot different. With 50 players left we had 5 players in the top 27.

You can now register for week 2, you can find the tournament:

PokerStars/Tournament/Private/APAT password apatmember

I will put up a week2 thread, can you please post on there if you are playing, with the amount of players I found it difficult to keep up with who"s playing and chip counts and exits, (you will be helping me out). I tried my best this week but I took my eye of my own game so next week I won"t be updating as much until I"m out but you can post on how you are doing.

There has been a great deal of discussion on the structure; particularly on the Captains board, following last weekend"s opening match in the National Online League.

As a result APAT and the Captains have agreed to test a slightly reduced structure for match 2. This will consist of 4,000 starting chips and 12 minute blinds - a structure which is still deeper than PokerStars own deep stack structure. These changes should see the final table completing around 12.30am.

We look forward to seeing you all ahead of match 2 and as always, we will listen to your feedback following that match also - but hope the changes we"ve made will allow an even greater number of players to enjoy the PokerStars.com National Online League.

Des

Just so you know I was in favour of this. APAT are always listening to its members and will change things if the majority asks for it. They as been some resistance to the change but overall I think this is a good move for the majority. It had to be made now before players stopped playing due to the late finish plus it makes it easier to rail your teammates after all it is a team game. If things change in the future "I"m sure that APAT will listen

Hi

Week2 again was a "so close but so far away game"

There was 454 runners of which we had 26 of them. This was down from last week but still a very good turnout since it was mother's day. As in every league, as the weeks go by the runners gets less and less if we keep our numbers up this would make us stronger. At the moment we have 46 registered players so if we can get 30 players each week would be great. Scotland are the early leaders and they have the biggest team so numbers do help but that alone does not guarantee you points. We have had 3 in the points in both weeks but not manage to get any points, we need at least one to get to the FT

There's been allot of talk about the structure. I voted for a reduction in time but not in chips however Des was told by Pokerstars if we need to finish by 1.00 am then we had to have 4k, and they was right the game finished at 12.45 which was the aim of APAT. If you have any views on this then let me know but I'm happy with 4k and 12 minutes but if you tell me different then I shall change Y&H stance on this.

Week 3 is up in the lobby, please play if you can.

Thanks
Wayne

Hello, boys and girls

I hope you are enjoying all the lovely weather we are having (according to the weather man) all I can see is fog. But It"s better than the weather in Malaysia

Tonight is the third game in the APAT league. 7.00 start with a 1 hour lat reg
You can find the tournament in Tournaments/Private APAT National Online League

Password: apatmember

The first 2 weeks we had 3 players in the scoring points but unfortunately did not get any team points. If we keep doing this the points will come.

I have changed the scoring system for the "Player of the season"
the top 10 Y&H players will get points
1st 15pts
2nd 12
3rd 10
4th 8
5th 6
6th 5
7th 4
8th 3
9th 2
10th 1pt

Week 3 thread is up, please post in it if you are playing are if you cannot see your name (especially if you late reg)

I hope you can play tonight but I Know some of you have other commitments

Good luck
Wayne

Well done to AcesSteve111 and willow333hul for reaching the final table and in doing so collecting 2 team points. We finished joint 3rd but on count back we wear placed 4th due to Scotland having more scoring players. Yet again some  bad beats just at the wrong time. Adilong1 AJ v 37, PL-Avongirl K9 v K8 to name but 2.

What I was most pleased about was the amount of runners we had. In week 1 we had 30, week 2 26 and week 3 we had 25. Although the trend seems to be going down if you compared it to the amount of total  runners, week 1 we had 5.48% week 2 5.72% and in week 3 it was 7.55%. So whilst the other teams get fewer runners, if we keep it at the same level we become a stronger team.

We have 46 players of which 37 of us have played at least 1 game. I don't know if the other 9 are going to play but the more we get to play the better chance we have of winning so can you please conceder playing.

Scotland have got a big team and that is proving to be a big advantage but so do the North West and they have zero so big is not always best. (ask the Mrs)

I appreciate the support so far, the next 3 weeks will be critical as players will start to loose interest if the team is not doing well but if we keep together we won't be one of them.

This Sunday will have 3 new levels added to the structure which should offer more play in the first 2 hours but still have a 1am finish (hopefully)

Also on Sunday APAT are running a £25 + £2.50 satellite in to the DTD £1m UKIP which will start at 8.00pm using the same structure as the league game.  For more details    http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10903.0

Hi

Tonight is the 4th game in the APAT league. 7.00 start with a 1 hour lat reg
You can find the tournament in Tournaments/Private APAT National Online League

Password: apatmember

Last week was the first time we got any points, tonight will be the second time.

Please play if you can, the next 2/3 weeks are going to be crucial as other teams start to drop in numbers, we will become a stronger team if we keep getting 25+ runners.

Week 4 thread is up, please post in it if you are playing or if you cannot see your name (especially if you late reg)

The structure as changed again for this week and will stay the same for the rest of the league. It"s the same as last week with 3 extra levels.

40 / 80
60 / 120
250 / 500 / 50

This should give you a little more play early in the game, also helps if you late reg, but still have a 1am finishing time.

APAT are running a £25 + £2.50 satellite for the DTD £1 Million garneted leg of the UKIPT which will be run between the 11th & 16th of April. The satellite will be at 8pm tonight and will have the same structure as the league game for more information see here.

Hope you can play tonight and let"s get our first win, see you all on the final table

Wayne
