3rd Break - total registered 390. Currently 185/230. E. Katchalov on my right with lots of chips. What could be better?

Well, it"s over, which is as much as can be said for it. Lost loads with QQ in the hole against AA in his hole and never recovered. I needed to get my chips in after that, but picked up a succession of unplayable hands and couldn"t call against multiple bets before me. I hated letting my stack dwindle but I got put out of my misery eventually.

165/390, though it should have been a few places earlier if I had got the chips in.

There were only 37 runners in the Second Chance by the end of the Late Reg, so I couldn"t see any point in playing it. I"ll refund proportionately.

Badugi
1st break - 182 runners so far.
Current position 16/156.

I had one hand where I potted a dealt J-high Badugi and got raised. The other guy stood pat. I broke my Badugi and drew a Q of the same suit for a worse made hand. I know that players can sometimes go mental with high Badugis but it"s unlikely his was K-high. I didn"t fancy drawing for a lot of chips, so I folded.

Caught a nice 5-high Badugi in the last hand before the break. 3-way to the end, with Marcel Luske also standing pat. I tried to get him to call a 600 bet into a pot of over 2000, but he was too good to fall for that and folded eventually. I guess the 600 looks like it wants to be called, so maybe I should have blasted the pot, but that probably makes it easier for him to get away.

And I double him up, my dealt Badugi losing to his drawn one. He was drawing very strong though, as he ended up with A234.

Gosh, that man sure likes to draw. And doesn"t mind paying for them. He"s done it quite a few times.

59/150; 279 runners in the end

Got involved in a big hand 3-way against FTOPS winner jimbomber and MicroMillions winner dev209 - not such a good idea, which cost me chips. I made a 9-8 Badugi and called a reraise from jimbomber. We both stood pat and I folded on the next street. Obviously, if I was going to fold eventually, I should have just folded straight away, so that was a mistake. He told me he had an 8-high, which was prob true. I told him it was better than mine, but not how big a hand I had passed, in case they all highlight a weak spot.

I don"t know if this was a good call or a terrible one, probably terrible. I could have been paying off with a very dodgy hand but it seemed such an obvious spot for him to be bluffing. Considering who it was, he is obviously capable of a bluff, which it was. Fold?

Nice start John, well played. I was railing for a while last night, couldn"t work out for the life of me what was going on but it looked interesting.

WP John

Looking at that HH you posted, it took me so long to work out why you had won the hand, that I"m glad I don"t play Badugi.

12.6% markup?!?! Serious?

I believe my edge in limit games is more than that, but I"ve kept it down. It"s not actually a big mark-up if you look at other forums.

Anyway, I have seen staking threads on here with far bigger mark-ups than that, including several where the player was putting up nothing himself.

How much will I put you down for?

Agree with John here but there is nothing wrong with asking the question. John gave a good answer and stats to back it up in this case so markup represents good value. This is not always the case with staking threads and potential backers have every right to ask questions and I would like to see more of it personally.

Anyway good luck with this to everybody definitively a +EV offer
