Season Three Discussion

So with season 3 not being announced till nov, is it likely the first event wont be till 2009, last years uk was in december but the schedule wwas announced in august.Sorry, i am just very impatient

You may want to look at those timings again.  There were three APAT event dates between the launch of S2 and the UK Championship last year.

thats the beauty of poker "seasons". Given the fact they are played indoors, they can last as long or short as is necessary. At least we can guarantee that when S3 is announced, we are in for a treat!

Do you have any idea if the online series and qualifiers in S3 will definitely be played on Blue Square again? I absolutely hate BSQ and know a few others feel the same, including friends who wont join APAT because of it (& also the fact they haven"t managed to clickfest in once!)...

I"d definitely play in the majority, if not all, of the online events if they were on Stars or Full Tilt...

You shouldn"t expect any changes in sponsor, as I think both APAT and BSQ were happy with the deal, and without BSQ we wouldn"t be getting the gukpt seats as added value.

At least BSQ now have stud tourneys, so hopefully wont be long before razz introduced, then just maybe HORSE tournies not too far behind.

I actually like Blue Square now, took me ages to get that way but with what they offer as a sponsor for APAT it was worth hanging in there to get used to the software.

Have to agree. I took the hump with ipoker for a while, but the support they give to APAT is deserving of our support. I hope this sponsorship arrangement continues and grows.

Just to be clear, without Blue Square there wouldn"t be GUKPT and GUKPT Grand Final seats, trophys, medals, added money, banners, dealers, buffets, hotels (and travel if overseas) for the gruesome threesome that run the events.  There might possibly be no Grosvenor involvement.  There would almost certainly be APAT membership fees and tournament registration fees  

In short, if live poker is your passion then APAT has a proposition that doesn"t exist anywhere else in the world, and for their support, we all have a lot to thank Blue Square for.  One way to do that is by supporting their cardroom.  That"s worth remembering the next time we hear shuffle up and deal on day one of an APAT National.

I"d be more than happy to see season 3 remain on Bluesquare. I like the $25, $30, and $55 double stack games on ipoker and I do play these quite regulalry. Blue Square also now get the majority of my sports betting business too. It"s also very easy to deposit and cash out.

i agree with everything des and others say about blue sq...they might not have the best software on ipoker...but blue square give so much added value in terms of seats and the grovsenor casinos we have visited quite possibly have to be the most welcoming in the country..not only that blue sq have started books on the main events so people can have bets on their other fancies for the tournament, something of which cannot happen on stars/full tilt

and besides the ipoker network is FULL of fish, which outweighs good software evertime

and speaking of bad software..ipoker is great compared to virgin..horrible!!!

LIVE deep stack poker is what it is all about. I"m a mere novice when it comes to live poker and the recent WCOAP main event was where i lost my live poker virginty (forwoahhh) and i wouldn"t have lost it anywhere else.

It is refreshing to see that a major company like Rank are willing to invest so much in handing over their premier card rooms to non fee paying players like us and add in the overlays of GUKPT seats aswell in return for the fact that we might play 50 odd online deep stack MTTs at UK friendly times. And there is nobody holding a gun to your head to play anything more than that. They might want us to do our stack at the roulette wheel when we are out but you would do that at any casino if you were so inclined.

UK poker forums are full of posts moaning about how casinos aren"t willing to look after poker players and yet how any people have anything bad to say about the recent WCOAP events OK the chili wasn"t great

Have to agree, Blue sq are second to none across the whole market. Their backroom guys are great.Let"s just hope they and Grosv"r are in for the long run.
