LAC FONTANA 4/1
« Reply #1188 on: December 13, 2014, 11:59:30 AM »
Cheltenham 3:45 - Osborne House Relkeel Hurdle(Grade 2) (1) 2m4f 110yds

Former Champion Hurdle winner Rock on Ruby heads the betting for this highly anticipated Grade 2 clash over hurdles which should turn out to be a proper staying test up the Cheltenham hill. The Harry Fry trained 9 year old was given a nice opener this season with a 3rd place finish behind Purple Bay, although he was destined for a well beat 4th if Irving had stayed on his feet. He should strip a lot fitter tomorrow and has to be respected but LAC FONTANA looks like serious value at 4/1 with Paddy Power. The Paul Nicholls trained 5 year old has to concede weight all round tomorrow, but he is a classy individual that loves it here at Cheltenham, a course where he has already notched up three victories from five runs.

lost 2 points last week so the fred total overall currently stands at +231.21 points

Doncaster 28th Febuary
3.45 - Grimthorpe Chase
Night In Milan @7.4 on bf  2point win
Aachen @16.5 on bf  1point win

Drop Out Joe is favourite at the moment but is coming off a 70 day break and to my eye his jumping is sketchy.
Streams Of Whiskey is coming off a 92 day break who"s a unexposed chaser but if you watch his Haydock win imo thats about his limit of ability in what was a weak race for the prize on offer.
Mon Parrain has claims but can he act as well around Donny as Cheltenham?
Super Duty might spring a surprise but i"d want 16/1+ to chance a small wager at that slim possibility.
The rest of the field you can pick holes in there form so i keep coming back to NIM and Aac.

Cheltenham Day One 2015 10th March

2.40 - Ultima Handicap Chase
Three horses have caught my eye - Annacotty, The Druids Nephew and Barrakilla.
The Druids Nephew heads the market narrowly from the sponsor owned ""its a plot"" Ned Stark :) TDN has a live chance if he reproduces anything like his run back in November at Cheltenham when he chased home Sam Winner.
Annacotty won at Cheltenham in the Freebets.com Handicap Chase back in January over 21f. He didn't look the likely winner jumping the last in second place plus he was forced to switch around the leader as he powered up the hill. I think the extra 4 furlongs will suit and the extra £50,000 he gets from Freebets if he wins at this years festival is a added incentive for the Keighley team to have him spot on to boost the owners bank balance.
Barrakilla is a powerfully built horse and a step up to this trip may bring plenty of improvement. He has to make the final cut though so if he"s still in come nearer the day my wallet will be opened up :)

The Druids Nephew @8/1  2point win
Annacotty @20/1  1point ew

Cheltenham Day Four 2015 13th March

3.20 - Gold Cup
Ok a look at the big one and for this i"ll just apply some simple logic. Won a grade 1 chase at Kempton, Cheltenham or Leopardstown. Any older than 10+ and your out, defending champions out, Silviniaco Conti is out [to short plus his course form] and sift through prize money won at those three courses.
That leaves Road To Riches, Carlingford Lough and Many Clouds. I"ll put a line through MC for now as i thought it was a sub-std Hennessy that he won although i might have a small saver if his odds on the day drift a tad.

Road To Riches @8/1  2point win [looks to of progressed a lot after a impressive Galway Plate win]
Carlingford Lough @10/1  1point win

last 5 years prize money won at those three courses Kempton, Cheltenham or Leopardstown at any level looking back 2 years, if won 50k plus have a closer look.

u meant your lucky pin right?  ;)

1.30 - Supreme Novices
Don"t fancy anything that much at the odds on offer, i"ll pass and watch.

2.05 - Arkle Trophy
One stick to beat the favourite with and that gives the bookies hope that Un De Sceaux gets beat is his lack of  experience of never having ran at Cheltenham. Also 16 of the last 17 Arkle winners have never fallen or unseated in a chase and Un De Sceaux is the only faller in a chase in this years line up. Now those two stats are enough for me to have a little nibble on Vibrato Valtat.

Vibrato Valtat @5/1  1point win

2.40 - Ultima Handicap Chase [http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=6616.msg239692#msg239692]
The Druids Nephew @8/1  2point win
Annacotty @20/1  1point ew
Barrakilla @12/1  2point win

3.20 - Champion Hurdle
just watch again and have my fingers crossed for The New One.

4.00 - Mares Hurdle
pass :)

4.40 - Toby Balding National Hunt Chase
pass  :)

5.15 - Novices Handicap Chase
Knock House @12/1  1point win
Generous Ransom @8/1  1point win
Stellar Notion @14/1  2point win
Golden Hoof @25/1 2point win
