Not sure if it matters in the salightest, but I"m shown as "northern region" but competed in the "eastern" region.

It still says Eastern in the regional part so that"s what matters.

Funnily enough I did notice that your region had changed in this update, but as the regional championship was over for this year I didn"t bother querying it.

What is the rationale in reducing Darren Shallis" points just because he has done better than anyone else in live tournaments? Seems to be a contradiction - maybe you meant you would add a bonus because he had done better than anyone else. The cap should be on the on-line tournaments; the lower the better. There seems to be a huge number of them compared to the live events, and they have much fewer participants. Certainly the points should be weighted towards the live events. Anyone can win a few online games, but it takes a lot more ability to win one of the live events.

Anyone can win a few online games?? Will someone tell me how to do it then! I have actually only managed to final table one out of about 8 attempts, but final table two live events out of 4. By the way it says on the list that I am western, it should read Northern.

this has got to be the worst comment i have ever read!!
considering the online tournamants always have a good turnout between 40 and 100 and the   some of the regional have been 1 / 2 table tourney were you can sit out for points !!
Also some people cannot go to regional cos too far to travel so lose out on the chance to get any points! Using myself as an example i lived in N ireland when regional on and none in ireland! If i had have played in any of the 1 table regional i would surely have enough points to be leading rankings overall!
The online tournies everyone has the internet so no excuse not to play it is purely choice!
I really cannot believe some one thinks regional points are harder to accumalate they online points!!

There are few online events left, so a good chance for you to win outright..

I really cannot believe some one thinks regional points are harder to accumalate they online points!!

I think there is probably a big re-think of the points to come for season 3. There have been a few threads about points during the season, and the limits set in getting online points v live points, also the points that are awarded in regionals being the same for 20 starting players or 80, and the fact that there are a lot more online points available than live (maybe not true due to 18 points for National win)..

I trust it will be looked into and if Des thinks it needs changing then it will be for the benefit of all members..

These were the rules at the start of the season, I think Darren of all people would be one of the last APAT members who would get penalised by Des for anything, hes been a big supporter from Day 1...

I was under the impression that the points system was weighted in favour of the online player, and maybe I still do, to some small degree. If that was truly the case though, then the top of the table would be dominated by those online players. Yet both Darren Shallis and Simon Auckland, to name two, are both up there having got most of their points "live".

To say that "anyone can win a few online games" is a little off the mark, and even if it were true, a few wins online isn"t going to take you to the top of the rankings.

As I said earlier, I was sceptical of the weighting towards the online player at the start of the season, and maybe it needs a little tweaking for season 3. But imho, Des and the team got it pretty close to spot on this season.
