I thought about backing myself on BlueSQ - but it means that some players will be playing for more than others.  If I"m 66/1 (8/1 to final), and you"re 125/1 (16/1 to final) then I"d be better off backing you or other players who are at 125/1.

But in terms of the likelihood of actually reaching the final table, you"d be better off backing them anyway.

craigdunn:

You could say the same about any poker tournament that has a book running on it - but it does give one an incentive to carry on as an individual even if the team is in disarray.

Not if if you were playing and I backed you.

I took into account that I wasn"t playing.

Although I did forget that Bainn was, so I do have to amend that to anybody else playing (apart from Bainn).  ;D

MAIR:
If I was at the final table, and our team had lost out out of qualifying for one of the 3 forum prizes, I would be going all out to take that 1st place down, I would not give up just because there was no prize money involved.

I will be, as Craigdunn suggested above, placing individual bets, that way I have a further opportunity of winning some dosh.

At the end of the day, to be able to play as part of the RTR Forum Team, win or lose, an opportunity to try and win an APAT event, and be a part of one of the best tournament structures and friendliest environments for playing poker, I am happy with whatever way that the prize money is split.

I am looking forward to a very enjoyable weekend of poker and friends, old and hopefully new.
