Honeybadg:
No further poker but did visit the Genting Highlands Casino yesterday ...

First time I have taken a cable car to a casino ... very gorillas in the mist ... minus the gorillas ...

Played mini-dice for a profit ... then a couple hands of Blackjack ... hand 1 doubled with 11 versus a 4 ... spiked a 7 ... dealer made it to twenty ... hand 2 ... 18 vs 20 ... did not feel the love ... moved to roulette ... no love either but relatively small social stakes ... minus a dinner out perhaps ...

So here I sit in Kuala Lumpur Airport pondering if I return to the Fox club on Saturday for the London Callling £500+40 event ... I think it is true to say I have only been there twice ... Final Table plus AA vs AK aipf defeat ... tempting.

Ping - I am wide awake at 5am - how convenient ...

It"s doesn"t feel like I will be playing London"s Calling at this rate.

The nocturnal element of poker is a major negative for me.

Got back to the cash tables last night - played badly then well for a profit and then got slaughtered firstly flush into full house on the river, and secondly trips into a nut flush on the river. I let people get there - I was greedy - but sometimes one needs to be greedy in order to get fat.

Disappointing return - a couple of MTT defeats too - GRRR

APAT - 2nd

Got the chips in good for the win A5 vs 94 - but no dice.

Would have been an epic win - middle section on the tournament was the best I have played for so long.

Early phase was interesting too with me looking to play as many hands as possible - then fully rewarded with a T8s flopped flush.

Massive stack created in two hands versus Richard Baker - Early position as chip leader I elect to limp AA - no raisers and a multiway pot ... could be trouble until A66 flops out ... WOW ... I check and Richard"s all in following an initial bet has the work done for me ... savage exit for Richard holding 62o.

Moments earlier I bought a decent pot with a micro bet with 22 as the underpair - these things don"t always work!

So seven players left - and more than half the chips with me.

I have been waiting for this ending for sometime - very happy to play relative small ball and look to pick people off.

Of course the cards still need to stand up - three players out I lose AJ vs A5 for 75-80% of the chips in play - so once we get to heads up an epic grind required.

A5 vs 94 for the win - not a chance - its only 60/40 - but post grinding it feels massive.

Mini card dead phase thereafter and increasing blinds means its QJ vs 33 for firm control - but no help for me!

I could have picked a different showdown spot but much prefer QJ type hands to A2 for your life.

Some promising play - but much easier to build momentum once the card rack has helped build the stack.

What next?

Nice play Louis, looked like you were dominant from a fair way out so unlucky not to get the win but still a good result for fairly small buy in  8)
