APAT Announce Season Nine Dates

May 3rd 2015, London:  The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) is delighted to announce details for Season 9 of its popular tour for recreational poker players.

Seasonal highlights include:

Non-standard poker variants included in National Tour dates:   The year-on-year success of the WCOAP, with its huge variety of poker events, has given rise to create opportunities to play non-standard variants not only at the WCOAP (details of which will be released separately), but now also on the APAT Tour as it travels throughout the UK and beyond, with events including Open Face Chinese (OFC), 7-card Stud, PLO, PLO8 (H/L), Crazy Pineapple, Bounty and Mix Max.

Split Day 1 first:   The Welsh Amateur Poker Championship will have 2 Day 1s – a UK first for APAT, with Day 1a on Fri 28th Aug and Day 1b on Sat 29th Aug in the Grosvenor Casino, Cardiff.

Irish teamed with IPO Dublin:   The Irish Amateur Poker Championship will run alongside the IPO Dublin at the Regency Hotel Dublin, with an estimated €25,000 prize fund.

Belgium and Benelux:  The Belgian Amateur Poker Championship has been established as a regular stop on the APAT Tour, and for Season 9 this relationship will include the inaugural holding of the Benelux Amateur Poker Championship and the Benelux Team Championship where a plethora of players, and teams, are expected from Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.

UK Team Championship Qualifier:   Season 9 will see the ‘UK Online Team Championship’ held in advance of the live equivalent, and act as a ‘Qualifier’ to the live event for the top placed teams.

Added Value:   APAT Amateur Champions from the Tour will each win an added main event seat at the WCOAP, where the main event winner, along with Player Of The Year crowned from the combined Live and Online Rankings throughout Season 9, will each earn a trip to the fabulous Las Vegas in June 2016.  Coveted APAT National Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will continue to be awarded to Live and Online main event Champions.

Players will be able to satellite directly into events, or reserve or buy their seats online in advance, with the action starting at the English Amateur Poker Championship on 30th – 31st May 2015 in the Grosvenor G Casino, at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry.
