SUNDAY LATE LATE SHOWING FROM JAMESCORDEN

T’was the Sunday before Christmas for the players in the  APAT Premier League.  The 34 teams got into the festive spirit on Grosvenor Poker Online for the final matchday of 2017.  Battling out not just for team matchday points, but hopefully a share of the spoils from the nearly £1,200 prizepool on offer.  Teams still have their eyes on over £4,000 of live tournament seats in the Grand Final at the end of January 2018.

The teams were drawn into four conferences to play ‘matches’ against each other every week.  Here’s a reminder of the conference draw :-

UTFB DRAGONS MAINTAIN 100% RECORD IN THE CLUB CONFERENCE

A top of the table battle in the Club Conference saw UTFB Dragons make it four wins out of four, beating FPG Team 2 in a close game, 79-53.  That allowed ACE Poker League to close the gap with the top two by beating Trump Cards, who also find themselves in the group of teams on six points chasing the leaders.  A first win for Team Effort was well deserved on previous results which still see them holding onto one of the two ‘Wildcard’ spots.

YORKSHIRE’S WHITE ROSES CLAIM THE SPOILS IN THE DIAMOND CONFERENCE

Another top two clash in the Diamond Conference and Yorkshire’s White Roses came out on top, beating Hitsquad Majors 63-49.  The Cream of LBPN got well and truly whipped, 103-0 at the hands of Hot Tub Shenannigans.  Deez Nuts finally got off the mark after a number of good but not quite there performances in the first three weeks.  Another win for Punters Lounge Poker Club very much keeps them in the mix as we head for the Christmas break.

FIRST BORE DRAW IN THE HEART CONFERENCE

It was Nil Pois for both Sh*t Detectives and Suicide Squad, meaning a matchday point for each, which was the first of the campaign for the Suicide Squad.  Big Potatoes still lead the way, with captain  Karen ‘Babloos’ Balbi topping the individual leaderboard as we go into the second half of the season.  Reigning champs ‘Quad Jokers’ kept up the pace and BLACK COUNTRY POKER CLUB secured a nail biter of a win due to Tod ‘J6Offgrosvenor’ Wood finishing 3rd to secure a 69-66 victory over Team Spawn.

WHO NEEDS FRIENDS ?  SHOWING FORM IN THE SPADE CONFERENCE

Who Needs Friends are on a bit of a run and find themselves in one of the two qualifying places in the Spade Conference.  Meanwhile, the bitter social media feud between The Chips Don’t Lie – Shakira Shakira and Crouching Lady Hidden Beever continues to be better than a Christmas Day episode of Eastenders.  Odds n Sods picked up their first win of the campaign, could they make a late run for qualification ?

Crouching Lady Hidden Beever jumped into one for the two ‘Wildcard’ spots to join the ever present Team Effort who although having won just one of their four games so far have actually overall outscored 3 of the 8 qualifying positions in the league so far.  The two ‘Wildcard’ places in the Grand Final reward the two teams with the highest points scored who don’t qualify automatically from one the four conferences, but their are plenty of teams that could make those spots with three matchdays to go.
