John Murray Wins UK Amateur Title

Portsmouth’s John Murray has won the Betfair APAT UK Amateur Poker Championship, played at the Victoria Casino in London.

John, who beat Don Roberts heads up, took the title, Championship Cup & Gold Medal, £3,500 first prize and a seat at a GUKPT Main Event.

John was a member of the victorious Ireland team that won the 2008 European Amateur Team Championship and he also captains the Solent Poker Club which competes in the APAT National League.

At the same festival, former GUKPT winner Bernard Litman won the second leg of the APAT Professional League.
